So recently we visited the Parade of Homes in Cantera Hills, in San Antonio. These homes are targeted to the luxury market, and we're going to highlight some of the trends and features of these homes.
Casadomaine Custom Homes | 9719 Midsomer Place
Our first custom luxury builder is Casadomaine. The property is located at 9719 Midsomer Place. This home is currently available and is listed at 1,390,000. It has four bedrooms, four and a half baths, and a three car garage. The homes in San Antonio in the luxury category always have a beautiful outdoor area, and this one doesn't disappoint. There is plenty of room to entertain with your outdoor kitchen.
Fashion wallpaper accents are making a comeback, as you see here in this lovely master bedroom. Another detail we notice from the luxury custom builders is the use of black cabinetry and gold accents. One of the features of a luxury home is the master closet. They're always well appointed. This master bath has an accent wall tile, as well as a large soaking tab. Another feature we are noticing throughout the custom homes is the use of furniture style vanities in the bathrooms, with overlaid sinks.
Diamonte Custom Homes | 9625 Midsomer Place
Our next featured property is by Diamante Custom Homes. The address is 9625 Midsomer Place, and it's also available. This is a four bedroom, four and a half bath home, with a three car garage. This home is listed at 1,697,000. It's also located on a large lot that's over a half acre. This custom home features soaring ceilings throughout the open living areas.
Another feature of these beautiful custom homes are the large windows, as well as oversized doorways, which help you open the outdoors in. Notice the oversized kitchen island, which is the gathering place for entertaining. This luxury home features a walk-in wine refrigerator. Translucent glass tiles accent the back splash behind this commercial style cooktop.
Custom builders utilize the ceilings, as well, creating a focal point with accent ceilings and lighting. Luxury homes feature soft, neutral color palettes, with black accents and often metallic finishes. Here's another use of the black cabinetry with gold accents. The overlaid sink basin has also become popular versus the undermounted sink. Natural stone with beautiful patterning is also used as a focal point throughout the bathrooms, and also often in the kitchens.
There's another entertaining area right off of the outdoor living space. This can be used as a bar or also a media room. Diamante Custom Homes has really detailed the indoor, outdoor lifestyle. There are multiple spaces outdoors to enjoy the weather. You've got the pool. You've got a dining room. You've got the outdoor seating area, as well, with a fire pit and a spa. It's totally ready for entertaining.
Robare Custom Homes | 9626 Midsomer Place
Robare Custom Homes built our next featured property. The address is 9626 Midsomer Place. This home has already sold, and you'll see why. It has a modern light industrial flare, with lots of accent walls for artwork. This home is 3,400 square feet, with three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a three car garage. The butler's pantry features artistic detail of tile work. This custom home also features a walk-in wine closet. Living so close to the Texas wine country has its advantages. Don't miss the large picture window in the kitchen.
The master bedroom has a wall-to-wall upholstered headboard. Fine custom closets often have plenty of extra space that are floor to ceiling. This master bath has a large soaking tub and a back to back floating vanity. Robare has taken advantage of the outdoor space by incorporating the trees into the deck.

McNair Custom Homes | 9710 Midsomer Place
Continuing on with our tour, next we have the McNair Custom Home at 9710 Midsomer Place. This was one of the largest homes on the tour, at over 4,800 square feet. It is four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. It also has a three-car garage. I enjoy visiting these custom homes to see what kind of conveniences they've added to the cabinetry in the kitchen. Again, we see the gold accents featured in this black and white kitchen. You can expect to find high quality, high end appliances throughout these custom homes. As you look out onto the courtyard from the dining room, you'll see a sitting area, as well as a waterfall feature.
One of the notable features of this home is the outdoor water feature. As you walk into the home, it's one of the first things you see. Here, we have the master bedroom, again with the textured wallpaper, large open space, beautiful ceilings, as well as accent windows. The free standing soaking tub has become the icon of the luxury home. Notice again here, we have the furniture style cabinetry, as well as gold accents.
As we move into the walk-in shower, you'll notice the barreled ceiling, the layered stone, and mosaic tile. This home takes advantage of the outdoors, as well, with a fire pit, as well as a wonderful pool with water features. Here's another look at that water feature we saw earlier that goes right up to the entry of the home.
Rialto Custom Homes | 9702 Midsomer Place
Our next featured home is by Rialto. The address is 9702 Midsomer Place. This home is also sold. It was over 4,500 square feet, four bedrooms, four and a half baths, and a three car garage. Just as you walk in the home, you'll see a well-appointed study with built-in cabinetry and vaulted ceilings. The exposed brick details make this kitchen unique. This home has a mix of casual elegance, with multiple textures and colors that are combined to create an eclectic, casual lifestyle.
Luxury homes maximize the views whenever possible. As you transition from one room to the other, you'll see the colors and textures translate throughout the entire home. The design elements take their cue from nature and raw materials. You'll see the stone complements, with the use of the green tile, the black furniture style cabinetry, as well as the gold accents. Imagine yourself relaxing on your chaise lounge by your sparkling pool in this wonderful weather that we have here in Santa Antonio.
Adam Wilson Custom Homes | 9706 Midsomer Place
We've saved this custom home by Adam Wilson for last, because it is the most distinctive of all the properties. The architecture of this home layers various elements, including glass, metal, and wood to combine to make a beautiful statement. This is a five bedroom, five and a half bath home, with a three car garage, and the address is 9706 Midsomer Place.
As we complete the tour on this home, we'll recap some of the details we've seen throughout these custom properties. We've seen beautiful stone. We've seen black cabinetry with gold accents. We've seen large picture windows, and we've seen natural wood in various finishes that are accents throughout these homes.
The master bedrooms often featured lush upholstered headboards with metallic accents. These custom homes have accent lighting floor to ceiling to accent the architecture in these homes. The soaking tub has been prevalent throughout these homes as a focal point, as well as mosaic tile, and the master closets are a statement unto themselves, often outfitted with floor to ceiling cabinetry, as well as lots of storage. Indoor outdoor living spaces are a must have in San Antonio, to enjoy our beautiful weather and take advantage of our yearlong sunshine. No custom house is complete without a fabulous pool. And this one we've saved for last, because it is absolutely outstanding. It has a clear wall on the facing side to the home, so you can see it no matter day or night, and you just can't help but resist dipping your hand in.
